Przemyslaw (short Przemek, pronounced as ‘Pshemek’) Grabowicz is an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at the University College Dublin and an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Przemek received his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Physics from the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (2014, cum laude) and M.Sc. from Warsaw University of Technology (2008, cum laude). He was a postdoctoral researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems.
Przemek has published more than 33 peer-reviewed research publications, among others in Science, ACM WebConf, NeurIPS, AAAI, and CACM. Przemek’s research publications have received three awards, including from ACM WebConf and AAAI ICWSM, and have been covered broadly in outlets such as ZDF, Frankfurter Algemaine Zeitung, The Wall Street Journal, Haaretz, and El Mundo. Przemek has received research awards from the Vokswagen Foundation in Germany and the U.S. National Science Foundation. He is a co-founder of the Social Data Science Alliance and a member of the UCD Center for Digital Policy. His research interests are focused on responsible AI, responsible techno-social systems, computational social science, applied NLP, and open-world learning.
