Bio

Przemyslaw A. Grabowicz received his Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Physics from the Institute for Cross-Disciplinary Physics and Complex Systems (2014, cum laude) and M.Sci. in Applied Physics from Warsaw University of Technology (2008, cum laude). Afterwards, he spent five years at the Max Planck Institute for Software Systems, where he was a member of the social computing group headed by Prof. Krishna P. Gummadi. Recently, Przemyslaw joined the College of Information and Computer Sciences of UMass as a Research Assistant Professor of Computer Science.

Przemyslaw has an interdisciplinary training and research experience. He is a member of the Center for Data Science and the Computational Social Science Institute, and the EQUATE initiative, and an affiliate of the NLP group. He has performed long-term research stays in several computer science, mathematics, physics, and industry research labs. He has been awarded prestigious grants for computational social science research from the Volkswagen Foundation.
